Ana Maria is currently the rehearsal assistant to Alexander Ekman, resident choreographer with Netherlands Dans Theater, and is a regular guest artist and collaborator with New Dialect. In this Master Class Series, she offers dancers her wealth of experience with some of today's most sought after choreographers. Her class is a guided improvisation filled with tools designed to prepare dancers for a wide variety of physicalities and movement possibilities.

Ana was born in Bucharest, Romania. At the age of 11, she received a scholarship from the National Ballet School of Canada, where she completed her dance education. She joined the National Ballet of Canada and went on to dance with the Royal Danish Ballet, Germany’s Augsburg Ballet and Lisbon’sContemporary Portuguese Dance Company and most recently, with New York’s Cedar Lake Contemporary Ballet, where she danced for seven years while earning her BFA in Dance at Empire State College. Lucaciu has performed works by Ohad Naharin, Crystal Pite, Hofesh Shechter, Jiří Kylián, Alexander Ekman, Lar Lubovitch, Alexei Ratmansky, and many others. Summer 2013, Ana Maria was rehearsal director for the Brooklyn-based company Gallim, directed by Guggenheim Fellow Andrea Miller. In 2014 she assisted Alexander Ekman, resident choreographer of Netherlands Dans Theater, with his new full length piece for the Norwegian Opera Ballet in Oslo, A Swan Lake, and collaborated with Banning Bouldin to create Emin, which premiered at OZ Nashville for New Dialect's sold-out debut performance, Multilingual.
