About Vinyasa Flow

Instructor Rosemarie Mientka offers a unique style of yoga called Vinyasa Flow, incorporating the tools from her self study in the somatic work of Alexander Technique, as well as her contemporary dance training. Vinyasa offers a style of yoga that seamlessly moves through the poses one breath at a time. Classes incorporate a creative and intentional blend of sun salutations and other namaskars with a full range of poses sequenced in a way that provides the foundation to cultivate inner and outer alignmentflexibility and strengthstamina and grace. Expect to move!

Rosemarie Mientka: instructor

Rosemarie came to yoga through her passion for dance. Sharing and deepening this love of movement led to her 200 hour Vinyasa Flow certification, led by Tom and Daphne Larkin at Nashville's Sanctuary for Yoga. Rosemarie has been practicing yoga for over 5 years and carries the influence of several yoga and dance teachers she has had the honor of studying with including James Bailey, Danny Brewington and Martin Kirk.

She began her intensive dance education in 2005 at The Institute of Dancing Arts under Diane Revie. Rosemarie performed with the Institute’s company, Southwest Ballet Theatre, in and around the Western Slope for four years. In 2009, she became a Mentor/Apprentice with ARC Dance Company in Seattle, WA. She received the Julia Harrig scholarship in 2010 for her to continue as a Mentor/Apprentice. In ARC Dance Company’s Summer Dance at the Center performances, Rosemarie was a featured soloist, premiering in a new work by Penny Hutchinson of Mark Morris Dance Group. She moved to Nashville in 2011 to join Nashville Ballet 2 Training Division where she began studying with Banning Bouldin. Rosemarie performed in “Ritual,” Bouldin’s site-specific work created for the Nashville Ballet 2 for the 100th Anniversary of Shelby Park in October 2012. She joined New Dialect in 2013.

Special Note: Participants in this workshop will need to bring a yoga mat.
