Laurel Desmarais returns to New Dialect for a week of contemporary movement research that uses principles from yoga and release technique as a launching pad to explore larger movement phrases.
Class begins with gentle centering exercises to integrate core movement patterns, breath-support and embodied awareness. Progressions include finding the relationships between fall and rebound, articulation and flow, momentum and kinetic range. This class strives to create an environment for dancers to explore multi-dimensional organic movement that can translate into any setting.
We accept cash, credit, or check made payable to New Dialect. Prepay online for the entire week or pay at the door.
There is no pre-regristration required for class. Doors open at 9am. Class ends at 11. Please be sure to arrive with enough time to sign in and warm up before class begins.
