Clemence Aubier

Clemence was born in France. She began her dance education at the Conservatoire à Rayonnement Regional de la Courneuve, where she had the opportunity to experience the work of choreographers such as Mats Ek, Akram Khan, and Bejart. From 2008-2012 Clemence continued her studies at the Academie Americaine de la Danse in Paris, pursuing ballet technique under the tutelage of Karin Averty, Principal dancer of the Paris Opera Ballet, as well as modern dance technique. She also participated in the Final and Semi Final of the Youth American Grand Prix ensemble category where she and her fellow dancers were awarded third place.

Clémence has participated in many contemporary dance workshops in Europe, studying with Navala Chaudhari from Sidi Larbi Cherkaoui’s dance company, Thomas Moricz from the Forsythe Company, Yamit Kalef from the Cullberg Ballet, and Elke Schepers from the Netherlands Dans Theater. In 2012 she joined the Nashville Ballet 2 Training Division. Shortly thereafter, Clémence performed in Banning Bouldin’s site-specific work "Ritual" for the Shelby Park Centennial Celebration. She has been a member of New Dialect since May 2013.
