Advanced/professional dancers ages 17+ have the opportunity to study a variety of contemporary dance approaches, investigate their movement language, and engage in the creative process with New Dialect artistic director BANNING BOULDIN and members of our collective

June 26 - July 7 in Nashville, TN

Applications due April 16, 2017

Our 2-week intensive is designed for advanced/professional dancers and will include movement research in Somatic Practices, Contemporary Forms, Ballet for Contemporary Dancers, Contact Improvisation, Movement Generation, Group Composition, and New Dialect Repertory. Dancers will also have the opportunity to engage in daily creative process research with artistic director, Banning Bouldin, and members of New Dialect.

New Dialect's Summer Intensive 2017 will culminate in a site-specific installation and showing on Friday, July 7, at 5pm. 

 

Your Youtube/Vimeo link should include elements of the following:

  • 1 traveling/across the floor combination exhibiting ballet and/or modern technique training
  • a contemporary solo
  • 2 improvisation sequences of contrasting themes/tasks   

The deadline for application submission is April 16, 2017.

 All applicants will receive email notification of their admission status by May 1, 2017.

Tuition for New Dialect's Summer Intensive 2017 is $800. 

New Dialect does not provide housing, meals, or transportation. Please inquire for a list of housing and travel options.
