Mary Arwen

A Nashville native, Mary trained as a visual and performing artist at Vassar College, the Martha Graham Center for Contemporary Dance, and Merce Cunningham’s studio.  

She has collaborated with and been directed by artists in a wide variety of disciplines, including fashion, film, painting, and installation, in works presented in NYC at the Storefront for Art and Architecture and the Cooper Hewitt Museum, and in Nashville at Zeitgeist, the Neuhoff Complex, and Cumberland Gallery. 

She has choreographed for stage, site-specific installations, film, and a national commercial, and taught Graham technique to professionals and dance students of all ages. 

Mary has performed with New Dialect since its inception.
