This class is envisioned as an evolving exploration of functional ballet technique as it relates to diverse, individual bodies.
We believe that classical ballet can function as a springboard for more adventurous or more introspective movement choices when it is approached with an intellectual and practical understanding of the consequences of the choices we make about the movements we embody.
To that end, each class can be used to research the ways in which each body navigates its relationship with ballet, while still remaining true to itself. Each class will begin with exercises based on physical therapy best practices, designed to fine-tune the body’s alignment, integrity, and available mobility before progressing to a simple ballet class implementing these concepts.
Doors open at 9am. Class ends at 11. There is no pre-registration required for this class.
Please be sure to arrive with enough time to sign in and warm up before class begins.
