On Saturday, October 18, 2014, Banning Bouldin, Artistic Director of New Dialect Contemporary Dance Company, received the Margaret Martin Award presented by Marcus Hayes, awards chair for the Tennessee Association of Dance. The Margaret Martin Award recognizes individuals or corporations who make long term, consistently outstanding contributions that further the public image and accessibility of dance in Tennessee. A native of Nashville, TN, Banning has returned to her home city with a commitment to introduce diverse modern movement vocabularies and a desire to collaborate with multiple artists and art forms in the Nashville community.

The Tennessee Association of Dance (TAD) is a statewide network of organizations and individual dedicated to artistic excellence and committed to ensuring that dance is a vital and respected part of life for all Tennesseans.
